"T1" 6-hour hiking at Doi Suthep National Park, 1,850 baht
We started our hike up to Doi Pui using a beautiful trail that took us through a peaceful Wat Pha Lat and the beautiful Wat Doi Suthep. As we made our way to the Hmong village and the peak of Doi Pui, we walked through a highland forest filled with wildlife and plants that we couldn't find anywhere else. The trail took us through beautiful, unique scenery that showcased the beauty of Doi Suthep National Park. After about 2 hours of walking, we reached Wat Doi Suthep, which is located at an altitude of 1100 meters. From here, we started our 3-hour trek through lush highland forest and traveled to an old Hmong village located near the peak of Doi Pui. The village is a good place to stop and have a delicious lunch before continuing our hike up to the peak of Doi Pui.
Our final journey will take us on an hour long climb to the summit of Doi Pui, which is 1650 meters high, making it the highest point in Doi Suthep National Park. Upon reaching the summit, we will be rewarded with a beautiful 280 degree view of the Mae Ping Valley, a popular hiking destination. The scenery is stunning, and we are amazed by the natural beauty of the surroundings we are passing through.
Once we have made it, we will walk down the hill for about 30 minutes until we reach an area where we will be shuttled back to Chiang Mai. On our way back, we will have the opportunity to rest and have a cool drink while enjoying the beautiful view of the rice fields and mountains. However, a word of advice, the hiking trails we will take may vary depending on the season, so we will try to follow the most suitable route according to the season to ensure everyone has a good experience.
“T2” 3-hour round trip hike, Wat Plad-Wat Suthep, 1,550 baht
We will ascend to Wat Suthep by hiking past Wat Pha Lat of Doi Pui National Park.
The starting point of the trail is located 400 meters above Chiang Mai Zoo. The trail is shaded by tall trees, which helps cool down the heat of Chiang Mai as we climb the first part of the trail, which is a gentle slope. It takes about 30 minutes to reach Wat Phalat, which is a good preparation for the trek. As we continue to climb, the terrain becomes steeper. After two hours, we will reach Wat Suthep, which is 400 meters above sea level and 1,100 meters higher.
Once you reach Wat Suthep, you are free to explore the temple and experience the temple life in the morning. This famous temple was built in 1383 and offers a wonderful view of the valley below. After eating and resting, at the altitude we will start our descent to Chiang Mai by walking down to an altitude of 700 meters or if you choose the cycling option, you can cycle down to Chiang Mai in just 20 minutes.
