Itinerary
Board the train to Ayutthaya at Krungthep Aphiwat Central Station at 08.00 and enjoy the changing scenery as the train leaves the big city and heads out into the countryside.
Arrive in Ayutthaya, a UNESCO World Heritage site, at about 09.40 Set off by local rocket-nosed tuk tuk to the first stop, Wat Yai Chai Mongkul, the temple with the most magnificent stupa in Ayutthaya. After that it is just a short ride to the Ayutthaya Boat and Travel office to check that your bicycle is ready for you to set off on your bike tour of the great historic sites.
The tour will include the famous Buddha head in the root of a banyan tree at Wat Mahatat and the peaceful reclining Buddha at Wat Logayasutharam.
After lunch at a local restaurant, cycle back to the Ayutthaya Boat office before experiencing life on the waterways as you take a boat trip around the Ayutthaya City island, learning about the different cultures that live in peace together as you pass by Catholic churches, mosques and Buddhist temples. Make one stop along the way to see Wat Chai Wattanaram, the most beautiful of all the temples left from the 17th century.
Get off the boat by the train station pier and get ready for your train journey back to Bangkok, arriving at Krungthep Aphiwat Central Station safe and sound at around 18.00
